Meet Team August to Uganda

July 30, 2012

Here is a glimpse into the 2012 August Uganda team.  This is a beautiful group of women that have a passion to serve and put others before themselves.  From the minute these girls joined our team they have brought enthusiasm for the product, passion for the mission and spread the word of BFR like wildfire. We are beyond excited to have these passionate and selfless ladies serving on our Uganda mission. I could not think of a better fit for these girls. While in Uganda, they are going to be working at SMILE Africa, an organization dedicated to rehabilitating abused, neglected and widowed women, men, and children with counseling and education of trades. Our team will be helping assist this ministry in various ways alongside this mission. Continue to pray for each of these team members and their families as they say “YES” to this incredible calling.   Britney Christie- Team Trainer I am from here and there and ended up in Memphis, TN.  I  am Co-Founder and Director of International Development for Be Free Rev. My days are consumed with my passions: my kiddos, Africa, training teams, promoting our products and spreading the mission of BFR.  God has put a unique calling on my life and I feel a huge burden for the women and kids that we serve overseas.  I have been on over a dozen mission trips and have led and trained teams serving all over the world.   Each journey I take I get to know and understand God more and more as I see Him through each soul I encounter, as they teach me about faith and I teach them about love and possibilities of a future.           Lacey Pease- Team Leader  I am from Memphis, TN and Co-Founder and Commerce and Creative Director of Be Free Rev. The Lord’s calling for me was simple, “Go..” I have not looked back since. At BFR, we fight for a future for those who cannot, and in return they instill a faith within us that keeps us fighting. I feel extremely blessed to lead these women into Uganda. They have such giving hearts with beautiful gifts and the ministries in Uganda are vast and I know God will utilize them in such amazing ways. I cannot wait for this team to meet the people of SMILE Africa, the ministry we will be serving. I am praying for the wisdom to lead this team in the direction and way God intends and to make choices that enhance the team and ministries we are serving. It is an honor to lead this team, learn about them and grow together spiritually as we serve in His name.       Maggie Muthuri I grew up in a slum in Kenya and live in Ruiru, Kenya. I have a wonderful, faith filled husband, Cipron and 3 beautiful children. My calling has always been with missions and God told me to minister and aid missionaries worldwide. The women at BFR I consider my family and when they come to Kenya along with their teams my job is to assist them on the field and to make them feel free off the field. The girls call me their mission mom and I am dedicated to serving, loving and protecting them in any way God asks of me. On this trip I will be aiding SMILE with my background as a nurse and aid in any way they need.       Kelly Hill Originally from Hendersonville, TN, I moved to Memphis to attend the U of M and have now made this my permanent home. After working for a national nonprofit for years, I took a chance, made a complete u-turn and became a hairstylist at Daniel Shay's.  My passion has always been in working with people, and I love nothing more than making a new friend and forming a new relationship.  My New Year's resolution was to become more hands on involved in charity work again and this opportunity came calling a few months later. It was too easy to say "yes" and I knew then that someone was leading me down a path I could never have imagined.   I am so excited to be a part of the mission team this summer and look forward to serving those in need on our trip to Uganda.       Kirby Hughes I am from Memphis, TN and a hair stylist at Daniel Shays Hair Studio. God placed a unique opportunity in my life to join with Be Free Revolution. My hope is to impact the lives of others, as well as my own. I am excited about the chance to serve in Uganda and with the Be Free team.
